My horse Sysco

For serious walkers we have available for loan an information pack of books, ordnance survey maps and landranger maps - altogether worth in excess of £40.00. Although we do not charge for the loan of the pack we do however request a small donation, at the end of each year all monies collected are donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Trust at Wythenshawe Hospital in Manchester.

Here at Crailloch Croft we are able to offer a choice of activities for you to participate in during your stay with us.

Our two-acre playing field is equipped with a rustic playcentre for children and a range of outdoor games are supplied which include bats and balls, football, frizbee's, cricket, football and boules. During the summer months a badminton net and ball wall are also available. Picnic tables and chairs allow adults to sit and relax whilst they play.

The playing field is fully fenced to prevent children gaining access to either the road or Piltanton or Crailloch Burns which flow close to the field boundaries.

We have a fully equipped picnic package for hire which includes everything except the food! The disposable BBQ, cooking utensils, cutlery, crockery, coolbox, blanket and citronella candles can be used within the gardens, field or at any of the local beauty spots.

From the cottages we have a circular route onto the Southern Upland Way which will take you along the coastal cliff-tops before dropping down into Portpatrick. The return journey to the cottages is via the country lanes however for those who do not wish to walk on the roads - or who feel they have walked far enough - we are happy to provide a collection service free of charge. Alternatively there are many local taxi firms which can be summoned from the village.

You are welcome to bring your horse on holiday and make use of our arena; we can also provide free summer grazing and advice on where to ride.
